Isaac Del Toro: "Just insane"

June 14 th 2026 - 18:13

"It’s super nice [to win the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes] obviously, I’m super happy. I did a recon of this climb a few months ago. It was nice to remember this recon with Tadej [Pogacar] and it’s super cool to win here with the team. It’s just insane. We fought for it and it’s really nice. I can’t believe it.

After yesterday, I knew everybody would look at me. Pablo [Torres], Kevin [Vermaerke], Pavel [Sivakov] and Benoît [Cosnefroy] did an incredible job today. Pablo’s launch was insane. I just kept going until the final. I’m super happy to have managed it over the last eight or nine kilometres.

It means a lot to win this race, not to win it after Tadej. I have lots of respect for him, and I just want to be as happy as him on the bike. I’ll enjoy this victory. And then I’ll work full gas for him in the Tour."
