Nestled at the heart of the Forez plain, on the legendary Route Bleue linking Paris to the Mediterranean, Montrond-les-Bains, a town of 5,750 inhabitants, stands out for its lush natural setting and unique heritage.
A spa town and a centre of culture, well-being and leisure, it has been overlooked since the 12th century by its medieval castle, Montrond-le-Fort. Originally a fortress, it was transformed during the Renaissance into a seigneurial residence. Today, it offers visitors, with digital tablet in hand, a genuine journey through time.
The JOA Casino offers spaces dedicated to leisure and entertainment. As the only spa resort in the Loire department, with hydromineral waters recognised since 1885, Les Thermes in the heart of the spa park welcomes guests for treatments in rheumatology, digestive health and metabolism, while Les Iléades offers a genuine thermal spa experience focused on relaxation and well-being.
A lively town with a great many sports clubs and associations, it encourages walking, hiking and observation in the natural area of Les Lonzes, between the Loire and the Coise, and in the medieval garden.
It is also a town of culture, with two venues for performances and gatherings: Les Foréziales and Les Passerelles.
